For a second straight season, Campbellsville High School begins the post-season with a home play-off game vs. Pineville at Campbellsville University.
The Eagles won last year’s encounter 28-12 to advance to the second round where CHS fell at Hazard 55-21.
Although being the home squad, this year Pineville is anywhere from a five- to seven-point favorite over Campbellsville.
The Mountain Lions only lost 28-22 at home to Hazard on Oct. 19 and are 5-5 with their other four losses coming to North Laurel, Williamsburg, Lynn Camp and Harlan.
CHS (4-6) also lost to North Laurel and Williamsburg, but did beat Lynn Camp.
Pineville is paced by three runners with 569+ yards rushing — Mike Tanner (No. 1), Andrew Douglas (No. 24) and Conner Ford (No. 16) — while quarterback Jamie Roan (No. 17) has passed for 1,418 yards and 20 touchdowns. Three of the four are seniors with Ford being a junior. Another senior, Byron David Asher (No. 18), leads six receivers with double-digit catches with 31.
Junior quarterback Zach Durham leads CHS with 1,105 yards passing while freshman Kendon Young has 34 catches for 544 yards and sophomore Hayden Webb has rushed 89 times for 426 yards. Freshman Deston Ford is  the top Eagle tackler with 85 total hits.
