CHS track teams complete first meet

Boys fourth, girls fifth in six-team event.

Campbellsville High School's boys were fourth and the Lady Eagles fifth in the six-team Marion County All Comers Track Meet on Tuesday.

Michael McCubbin paced the CHS boys with first-place showings in the 200- and 400-meter dashes and a fourth-place effort in the long jump.

Also scoring for the Eagles were: Vincent Taylor, fourth in the 100-meter dash and fourth in the 200-meter dash; Ricky Buckner, third in the 800-meter run; Bradley Harris, third in the 1,600-meter run; Dennis Sacco, third in the 3,200-meter run, fifth in the 110- and third in the 300-meter hurdles; Evan Riggs, fifth in the 3,200-meter run; Nathan Riggs, sixth in the 3,200-meter run; Doug Bunch, fourth in the shot put, fourth in the discus and third in the javelin; and Trey Henry, first in the javelin.

The CHS' 4x200 meter relay team of Buckner, Sacco, Taylor and McCubbin was third as was the 4x800 relay squad of Sacco, Harris, Evan Riggs and Buckner.

For the Lady Eagles, point scorers were: Kelsey Feltner, fourth in the 100-meter dash; Monica Sallee, seventh in the 200-meter dash; Erica Crider, third in the 100-meter hurdles and fourth in the 300 hurdles; Denika Smith, fourth in the long jump; Melanie Brockman, sixth in the triple jump; Jami Washington, fourth in the shot put; and Kat Baker, first in the javelin throw.

The girls' 4x100 and 4x200 relay units of Baker, Smith, Stephanie Cowherd and Feltner were second while the 4x400 team of Justice Clayton, Sidney Edwards, Jameka Spurling and Sallee was sixth.

Bardstown and Green County placed 1-2 in the boys' and girls' team competition.
