CHS takes three straight after losing to Glasgow in Florida

Despite losing its opening game on Sunday to Glasgow, the Campbellsville High School Eagles reeled off three straight wins in the Florida Beach Bash in Fort Walton last week.

The No. 21-rated Scotties downed CHS 7-3 despite two singles, two walks and two runs scored by losing pitcher Brett Kearney.

Aaron Schwoebel, Taylor Levi, Hayden Neal and Stealth Townley also hit safely.

On Monday, the Eagles downed Crittenden County 6-2 as Taylor Levi went the distance and scattered nine this while not allowing any walks and striking out three.

Ben Janes had two hits for Campbellsville while Kearney, Levi, Neal, Levi Murray and Lake Wiseman all singled.

The Eagles (5-5) run-ruled Fairdale 14-3 on Tuesday and Spencer County 14-4 on Wednesday and lost to Anderson County in the week’s finale.

Campbellsville hosts Elizabethtown tonight at 5:30 and begins 20th District play tomorrow at home vs. Adair County (5:30) before visiting Taylor County on Thursday (5:30).

The Eagles will host the Touchstone Energy Fifth Region All “A” Classic semifinals and championship game on Friday and Saturday. CHS plays Bardstown, who eliminated Fort Knox 11-8 in a first-round game.

Green County, who conquered Caverna 12-6, and Washington County, who shut out Bethlehem 4-0, meet in Friday’s other semi-final clash.

The Fifth Region champion hosts the Sixth Region victor in sectional play next week with that survivor advancing to the Statewide Baseball Tournament at Applebee’s Park in Lexington vs. the Region 9/Region 10 victor on Saturday, May 1.
