Taylor County High School's Cardinal Financial recently celebrated its grand opening with students, faculty, staff and community members.
The student bank has been in existence for 17 years and has become an integral part of making students college and career ready, as well as in skill development.
The bank is made possible through a partnership with Citizens Bank and Trust Co., Forcht Bank, Taylor County Bank and United Citizens Bank.
The bank offers services such as certificates of deposit, savings accounts and a number of student-specific loan programs. CD and loan rates are subject to market conditions, but are tailored to students and designed to enable them to take responsibility for their financial decisions.
The bank is staffed by students who also act as employees and officers at the bank.
Spencer Tungate is president. Jade McClure is chief financial officer.
Alyssa Young is vice president for promotions and Brooke Gregory is vice president for operations.
Katie Long is executive secretary. Andy Finck is public relations director.
John Eastridge is a loan officer and Haley Franklin and Shalyn Thompson are marketing directors.
Chelsea Duplantis and Elijah Myers are accountants. Macalya Bertram is lead teller.
Tellers are Taylor Agathen, Olivia Burton and Becca Orberson.
