Campbellsville schools honor academic achievers

Campbellsville Independent Schools recently announced its academic achievers for January. A boy and a girl from each school are named.

Those recognized include:

Campbellsville Elementary School

Mary Russell is a second-grade student at CES. She is the daughter of Jimmy and Angela Russell. Her favorite teacher is Zack Lewis and math/reading is her favorite subject. She enjoys being on the CES dance team. Her future plans are to attend Campbellsville University and become a teacher/coach.

Jeremiah Garrett is also a second-grade student at CES. He is the grandson of Betty Jean Mattingly. His favorite teacher is Shirley Cox and math is his favorite subject. He enjoys playing basketball. His future plans are to attend University of Louisville, play basketball and become a lawyer.

Campbellsville Middle School

Autumn Babbs is a fifth-grade grade student at CMS. She is the daughter of Jacquelyn and Chuck Babbs. Her favorite subject is science and Donna White is her favorite teacher. Her future plans are to work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Dylan Gilligan is also a fifth-grade student at CMS. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephan Charles and Anne Gilligan. He enjoys playing youth basketball. Math is his favorite subject and Tammy Hash is his favorite teacher. His future plans are to become a video game designer.

Campbellsville High School

Amber Stagner is a sophomore at CHS. She is the daughter of Sheila Hilbert and Rick Stagner. English is her favorite subject and Valerie Davis is her favorite teacher. Her future plans are to finish high school and attend college.

Alex Bailey is also a sophomore at CHS. He is the son of Sandra and Mitch Bailey. He enjoys playing football and basketball. Physical education is his favorite subject and Dale Estes is his favorite teacher. His future plans are to attend college and get a good job.
