Campbellsville Police Department arrested a Harrodsburg man on Sunday after officers received a report of a man attempting to sell a stolen utility trailer.
A police report states that officers were told a male person was approaching shoppers at Walmart parking lot attempting to sell a utility trailer, which the caller said appeared to be suspicious.
Campbellsville Police Officer Scotty Perian responded and asked the price of the trailer, which was extremely low.
After an investigation, Perian found Jimmy Alsman, 41, driving a 2001 Dodge pickup truck pulling the trailer.
Further investigation revealed the truck was reported stolen from Danville earlier that day.
After talking to Alsman, Perian discovered that he had a knife in his pocket.
Alsman was arrested and charged with two counts of receiving stolen property, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, theft of a motor vehicle registration plate and decal, driving on a suspended license and possession of burglary tools.
Alsman was lodged at the Taylor County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash bond.
According to the report, Alsman has an extensive criminal record spanning several states, including Kentucky. Additional charges are forthcoming from Harrodsburg and Danville law enforcement officials. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
