Campbellsville Police officers captured a fugitive last Wednesday after they allegedly saw a man driving erratically.
According to a Campbellsville Police news release, at 10:52 p.m., Campbellsville Police Officer Ryan Jewell arrested Tirrell T. Barbour of 310 Candace St. in Campbellsville after allegedly observing seeing him drive erratically and recklessly.
Jewell first observed Barbour driving a white 1983 Buick on South Central Avenue. He then turned onto Kerr Street and proceeded to South Carden Street in a reckless manner, the release states.
Jewell activated his emergency lights as Barbour sped away toward Eggers Street where he abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. A search of the area found Barbour on Anna Court where he was taken into custody without incident.
Barbour was lodged at the Taylor County Detention Center and charged with careless driving, having no operator's license, failure to provide proof of insurance and fleeing or evading police.
Further inquiry and investigation found that Barbour was wanted in Jefferson County for second-degree escape.
