Campbellsville is a good city that is quickly on its way to becoming great. Main Street is being resurrected right before our eyes. Every time a broken thing gets mended, every time a brick gets put back into place, every light that gets turned back on brings a new level of hope, and hope is the spark that ignites fires.
In the past couple of years, a great deal of momentum has been achieved but we are nowhere near critical mass.
Though the steady march of complacency is being shaken off and our city is beginning to run, we are still in need of pioneers - men and women of conviction who are brave enough to dream, brave enough to consider things that have never been done - people with a “why not here” attitude. The issue isn’t higher taxes or lower taxes, more government or less government, Republican or Democrat. The issue is, will the people of Taylor County and
Campbellsville allow themselves to dream? The questions for every person in every household are:
“Why not here?”
“What is my part?”
If our city has a problem it certainly isn’t with our city officials or elected officers. After all, we are the ones who have elected them. If our city is underachieving, if our city is deficient, if our city is not yet running at full speed, it is because “we” are underachieving, deficient and slow. Right now is the time to dream. Right now is the time to imagine. Right now is the time for bold, courageous moves.
