Campbellsville man charged with second DUI

A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with his second DUI offense.

Darrell Morrison, 51, of 2778 Elk Horn Road, was arrested at 10:48 p.m. on Monday, June 2.

According to Morrison's arrest citation, Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer Joshua Patrick saw him weaving while he has driving. After the officer began to follow Morrison, he wrote in court records, Patrick saw Morrison cross the centerline of traffic and also leave the roadway.

After stopping Morrison, Patrick wrote, he said he hadn't done anything wrong. Morrison couldn't find his driver's license, insurance card or vehicle registration, according to court records, and then failed several field sobriety tests.

When Patrick moved Morrison's vehicle, records state, he saw two bottles of pills containing cyclobenzaprine, diazepam and other drugs.

Morrison was charged with DUI, his second offense, having a controlled substance prescription not in its original container, license to be in possession, failure of owner to maintain required insurance, failure to produce insurance card and having no registration receipt.

He was lodged at the Taylor County Detention Center on a $500 cash bond, which has since been posted.

Morrison is scheduled to appear in Taylor District Court for arraignment on Monday, June 30.
