Campbellsville committed four errors in the first inning and finished with eight miscues in dropping a 13-0 semi-final game with Bethlehem on Wednesday in the Fifth Region Tournament on Wednesday night at Central Hardin High School in Cecilia.
The Eagles (18-18) could not get out of the huge hole it dug and managed only six singles off Bethlehem senior right-hander Jimmy Keating.
Bethlehem, who had edged Campbellsville 2-1 in the Touchstone Energy Fifth Region All “A” Classic title tilt on April 12, tallied five first-inning runs, three more in the second, two in the third and three in their last at-bat in the fourth.
Zach Durham had two hits for the Eagles while Austin Hash, Julian Pierce, Tony Barrera and Owen Weeks had one apiece. Durham and J.T. Holmes, who shut out Green County in Monday’s first-round, were Campbellsville’s representatives on the All-Fifth Region Tournament squad.

Elizabethtown used a three-run third inning, five in the fourth and two-run frames in the sixth and seventh to eliminate Adair County 12-2 in Wednesday’s first semi-final clash.
Bethlehem (24-12) was scheduled to battle Elizabethtown (27-7) on Saturday afternoon in the rain/lightning-delayed tournament.
The Fifth Region champion is scheduled to play the Sixth Region winner (Butler or North Bullitt) in the second day of first-round games tomorrow (11 a.m.) at the Rawlings/KHSAA State Baseball Tournament at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in Lexington.
