Campbellsville chalked up four wins in an eight-day period to capture the Little League 10-year-old Tournament at Jamestown.
Campbellsville began its post-season journey with a 20-2 romp over Glasgow on July 2 as Dawson Cole, Hunter Maupin and Jackson Herron had three-hit performances and John Orberson, Noah Hughes and Blake Allen had two apiece.
Hughes (two innings), Cole (one) and Orberson (one) combined for the mound win.
The game two victim was Washington County 7-4 on July 3. The local 10s won as the Springfield team stranded 17 runners and left the bases filled four times.
Cole had three hits to again lead the Campbellsville arsenal with Nicholas Knifley pitching three innings apiece.
Campbellsville won over Marion County 10-8 on Saturday morning as Hughes pitched the first four frames and Cole and Arren Hash tossed an inning apiece.
Knifley had three hits, including a home run, while Maupin had three singles, Blake Allen two singles and Hughes a two-run single.
The 10s had to down Marion County for a second time to claim the title on Monday.
Knifley, Maupin and Allen had two-hit outings with Knifley going the first four innings on the hill. Orberson retired four batters and Maupin got the last two outs.
The championship trophy advances the 10s to the Little League State Tournament next weekend in Prestonsburg.
The 10s will begin pool play on Saturday, July 21 with games also scheduled for July 22 and July 23. A single-elimination tournament for the top two teams in each pool begins on Wednesday, July 25.
