Bruckheimer to sign books in Bloomfield

-A A +A

Film and television producer Jerry Bruckheimer will come to Bloomfield next month to sign copies of his book "Jerry Bruckheimer: When Lightning Strikes - Four Decades of Filmmaking."

According to a news release, the book commemorates the uber producer's entire body of work, including such blockbusters as "Top Gun," "Beverly Hills Cop," "Armageddon," the "Pirates of the Caribbean" films as well as television's "CSI" shows and "The Amazing Race."

The stories behind his films and television shows are revealed through text written by Michael Singer, who has worked beside Bruckheimer in deserts, on tropical islands and at every conceivable filming location in between.

Images that accompany the text tell their own tales of directors, actors and writers coming together with Bruckheimer to create films, characters and screenplays that have become iconic, beloved and often quoted.

Bruckheimer will be at Nettie Jarvis Antiques/The Old Sugar Valley Country Store from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 5. Refreshments will be served and the public is welcome to attend.
