Boy Scouts earn welding badge

Boy Scouts of America Troop 616, affiliated with Bethel First Presbyterian Church in Campbellsville, recently participated in a class to help members earn their welding merit badge.

The class was at Green County Area Technology Center in Greensburg.

Hendrickson of Lebanon provided funding for supplies and materials needed while Steven Thomas, welding instructor, volunteered his time to teach the class.

Scouts ranged from sixth- to eight-grade students and members learned about safety, careers in welding and spent Saturday, April 26, doing hands-on learning where the scouts got to practice mig welding in several different position.

Seventeen scouts received their welding merit badge.
