Bluegrass Cellular has announced the games to be featured in the second football season of Battles in the Bluegrass, a high school sports program highlighting rivalry games throughout central Kentucky.
The featured games and teams are:

  •  Pulaski County High School vs. Russell County High School, which occurred on Sept. 9 at 7 p.m.
  •  John Hardin High School vs. Central Hardin High School on Sept. 30 at 7:30 p.m.
  •  Greenwood High School vs. Bowling Green High School on Oct. 21 at 7 p.m.
  •  Hart County High School vs. Taylor County High School on Oct. 28 at 7 p.m.

Bluegrass Cellular launched Battles in the Bluegrass during the 2010 football season as part of the company’s ongoing support of community high school athletics. This year, Bluegrass Cellular called on the community to select the four featured rivalry games by voting online at www.battlesinthebluegrass.com.
“For the second year in a row, Bluegrass Cellular is proud to support high school sports rivalries through our Battles in the Bluegrass program,” stated Barry Nothstine, Bluegrass Cellular vice president of sales and marketing. “We are thrilled with the season’s match ups and can’t wait to bring our Battles crew to each game.”
The winning team from each match up will be added to a traveling trophy that will be displayed at every game. Each winning team will also receive an individual trophy to be displayed at the school. In addition, Bluegrass Cellular will host giveaways and promotions at each of the featured games.
Before each game, fans can log on to www.battlesinthebluegrass.com to view preview videos of each match up. Fans can also review video highlights online after each featured game, and place their vote for the Play of the Game contest. The school with the winning play from each game will be awarded $250. At the end of the Battles season the community can vote for the Play of the Season from among the Play of the Game winners.  The school that wins Play of the Season will be awarded $1,000 from Bluegrass Cellular.
In order to stay up to date fans can download the Battles in the Bluegrass app on the Android Market at market.android.com/details?id=com.bluegrasscellular.battles.
The app allows fans to learn more about each rivalry, map directions to the games and watch post-game video highlights and vote for the Play of the Game.
