With the summer season beginning in three weeks, many people will take vacations and spend time outdoors.
And with a busy schedule of summer activities, Lindsay English, communications manager for the Red Cross, said donating blood might not be on the agenda. That can mean the blood supply dips lower than the need.
Last Saturday, English said, the Red Cross began its "100 Days of Summer, 100 Days of Hope" campaign to entice people to donate. The campaign will run through Labor Day on Sept. 1.
