Bengals go undefeated, Titans finish 5-1 to wear league crowns

The Bengals finished an undefeated campaign in Senior League play while the Titans closed out with a 5-1 worksheet to take the Junior League title in Campbellsville Community Club Youth Football action.

Bengals 20, Cowboys 12

Antonio Barrera’s 3-yard touchdown run gave the Cowboys an early 6-0 lead.

But, Quentin Goodin pushed the Bengals n top with TD runs of 51 and 90 yards, the latter one as time expired in the first half.

Conner South’s 1-yard TD in the third period secured the title for coach Homer Veach’s club.

Jarrett Benningfield tacked on a Cowboys score to finish out the scoring.

Goodin rushed for over 1,200 yards for the Bengals and scored 17 touchdowns.

Eagles 14, Steelers 0

Jordan Nicholas’ 6-yard quarterback keeper in the first quarter and Jessie Meier’s third-quarter, one-yard plunge propelled the Eagles.

The Eagle shutout on defense was led by Layden Coffey’s two interceptions and Madison Isaacs’ safety.

Demontez Smith had three receptions for the Steelers while Dan King had several tackles on defense.

Titans 36, Saints 0

Coach Jimmy Russell’s Titans blanked the Saints to win the Junior League title.

Lane Bottoms scored on a 3-yard run and the Titans exploded for 28 second-quarter points.

Quarterback Chandler Stewart scored twice (19 and 59 yards) while Arick Groves and Devonte Cubit TDs put the game away by halftime.

The Saints got first-down yardage from Jacob Thompson while the Titan defense was anchored by Devin McGlone and Chaz Groves.

Colts 18, Cardinals 0

The Colts posted their fourth straight win after beginning the season at 0-2.

DeJhon Taylor’s 3-yard TD with just three seconds left in the first quarter gave the Colts the advantage.

Aubrey Hunt hit L.J. Haralson just before the half on a 20-yard halfback pass for a 12-0 cushion.

Kadin Paiz’s 26-yard TD run in the third quarter closed out the scoring for coach Anthony Beard’s team.

Justin Richerson’s fumble recovery paced the Colt defense while Jarrett Malone had big hits for the Cardinals.
