Basketball coaching spots look to be full

36 coaches among Fifth Region schools

Taylor County High School filled its girls’ head basketball coaching position and thus it appears all 36 jobs are filled.
That is, until someone resigns or retires before the season.
Here are the current mentors heading into the 2014-15 campaigns with their season at the current school in parenthesis.

Notice there are nine first-year, seven second-year, two third-year and one fourth-year coach for a percentage of over half (52.8) who have not been at their present school long enough to coach a freshman to a senior. (Also note that this is only the third year for Thomas Nelson, but they do have new coaches this season.)

More Than A Game Fund-raiser/Auction slated for Thursday night
After hosting their two-day More Than A Game Middle School Football Games over the weekend, Campbellsville University will have their More Than A Game Fund-raiser and Auction this Thursday night in the Winters Dining Hall.
The silent auction will run from 5-6 p.m. with dinner at 6 and the auction and student testimonies at 6:30.
Tickets are $25 per person and you may purchase tickets from Jason England at 270-789-5290.
Auction items, secured by each Tiger athletic team, with proceeds going 100 percent to the team acquiring the item. 
A matching gift will be sought to be used for mission trips.

J.B. Holmes’ tee times are announced for Thursday and Friday at PGA
Before he finished up play over the weekend in the Bridgestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio, John “J.B” Holmes’ time have already been announced for the PGA Championship at Valhalla.
Holmes, playing with Luke Scott and Francesco Molinari, will tee off  No. 1 on Thursday at 2:05 and off No. 10 on Friday at 8:55.
Fellow Kentuckian Kenny Perry plays Thursday at 1:35 and Friday at 8:25 while Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson play Thursday at 8:35 and Friday at 1:45.
