Lady Card coach gets engaged, team upends Fort Knox

By Bobby Brockman

First-year Taylor County Lady Cardinals’ head coach Whitney Ballinger won a doubleheader recently.
After getting engaged to Clay Hooper over the weekend, Ballinger guided her Lady Cards’ hoop team to its first win of the season — a 45-24 home triumph over Fort Knox.
The Lady Cards raced out to a 12-2 first-quarter lead as Haley Wright scored five during the stretch and Kassie Miller added four.
Miller led Taylor County with a 10-point game while Wright added eight and reserve Kaylee Pogue six.
