Arts series announces 2008-2009 season

The Central Kentucky Arts Series recently announced the acts performing in its 2008-2009 season.

The 42nd season will open with a performance by Wilson Williams and His Platters at Taylor County Middle School's gymnasium on Friday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m.

On Monday, Oct. 27, classical pianist Charles Rosen will perform at Campbellsville University's Ransdell Chapel. The show begins at 8 p.m.

For the arts series' Home Roots program, Campbellsville native Dr. Susan Davenport and the Southern Illinois University Choir will perform Monday, Nov. 10. The performance begins at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church.

The final event of the season on Tuesday, March 24 will feature the world-renowned Vienna Boys Choir performing at 7:30 p.m. at Campbellsville University's Ransdell Chapel.

New arts series board members were also recently announced, including Dr. Tony Cunha, Rosalind Strong, Shirley Reynolds and Melody Tank.

The arts series welcomes residents of Campbellsville and other surrounding counties. Information about the upcoming membership campaign will be announced soon.
