A Campbellsville man crashed his vehicle on U.S. 68 last Thursday morning.

According to a Campbellsville Police report, officers received a call at about 1:15 a.m. reporting a crash near the west limits of Campbellsville. Officer Bryon Simpson responded.

Cody Baxter, 23, was traveling west on U.S. 68 in a 2003 Chevrolet Blazer.

Based on Simpson's investigation, the report states, it appears Baxter left the paved portion of the roadway and went onto the shoulder.

The report states that the driver overcorrected in an attempt to re-enter the roadway and lost control of his vehicle.

The Blazer skidded across U.S. 68, which caused the vehicle to overturn multiple times before coming to rest on the eastbound shoulder.

Baxter was wearing a seat belt, and, the report states, this prevented him from being ejected from the vehicle.

Alcohol involvement is suspected to have contributed to the crash, the report states, and the collision remains under investigation.
