The 20th District Tournament gets underway Tuesday at Paul J. Coop gymnasium on the campus of Campbellsville High School.

Top seeded Marion County will play Taylor County in the opening game of the tournament at 6 p.m. The Lady Knights beat coach Tim Peterson’s team 54-33 on Jan. 29 and then had to come from behind to knock off the Lady Cards 48-42 on Feb. 2.

Campbellsville will face Adair County in the night’s second game. The Lady Eagles swept the Lady Indians by scores of 74-70 and 64-51 earlier in the season.

The boys did not use regular season play to determine their seeding, but rather held a drawing last week. Adair County and Marion County did not play Taylor County in the regular season.

The Indians and Knights will play at 7 p.m. on Wednesday night. Adair County won both regular season games, 88-77 in Columbia in December and then fought off a late Marion County rally to win 79-77 at the Roby Dome on Jan. 28.

Campbellsville and Taylor County will face off on Thursday at 7 p.m. The two teams have played a pair of nail-biters in the regular season with Campbellsville winning 58-56 in the first game ever played in Citizens Bank Arena on Dec. 5 and then needing overtime to gain a season sweep with a 66-63 win Jan. 5.

The girls finals will be held on Friday night while the boys will be held on Saturday. Tip-off for both of those games is 7 p.m.

Admission is $6 each night. Coach’s cards can be used but only the cardholder will be admitted free. There is no charge for those who have not reached school age.
