A group from Taylor Regional Hospital and Elk Horn Baptist Church traveled to tornado-ravaged Joplin, Mo. recently to deliver supplies and help in the relief effort.
“I saw on the news what had happened and e-mailed my ER director and asked if there was any way we could get some nurses together and go help,” said Connie Burress, a registered nurse at TRH.
The OK came in a few days.

The Kentucky Court of Appeals has denied a local man's appeal of a jury verdict in his lawsuit against Taylor Regional Hospital.
William H. Wethington sued TRH in 2007, claiming that staff failed to provide adequate care for his wife. A jury agreed but did not award damages.
Wethington's lawyer says he will now take the case to the Kentucky Supreme Court.
Greensburg attorney Danny Butler filed a wrongful death claim in Taylor Circuit Court in April 2007 on behalf of Wethington, executor of the estate of Betty H. Wethington.
