Police are still investigating the death of a 3-month-old, and have ruled that a Campbellsville woman’s death last month was an accidental overdose.
According to a Campbellsville Police news release, Campbellsville/Taylor County EMS personnel responded to an emergency call on July 20 that a 3-month-old boy was unresponsive at a home on Mill Street. The infant was treated at Taylor Regional Hospital and later transported to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, where he was pronounced dead.

It once brought teenagers from all over the state to Campbellsville to meet with their friends on Friday and Saturday nights.
Several years later, after an effort to bring it back, cruising Main Street is causing some problems for local residents.
At Monday night’s regular Campbellsville City Council meeting, residents Brianna and Brent Burden said they recently moved to Campbellsville because they felt the town is a perfect match for them.

The Kentucky Office of Highway Safety recently honored 126 law enforcement officers, including several from Taylor County, from 123 agencies across the commonwealth for their efforts to increase the use of seat belts and child restraints.
Campbellsville Police Officers Scotty Perian and Ryan Jewell were honored, as was Taylor County Sheriff’s Deputy Mark Dickens.

Kentucky State Police Post 15 is now accepting applications for the 2012 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy.
The 10-week academy is slated to begin Monday, Sept. 3, and will meet every Monday from 7 to 9:30 p.m. through graduation on Monday, Nov. 5.
Attendees will learn about the many facets of the Kentucky State Police to include classroom topics such as criminal patrol, criminal investigations and drug investigations. Participants will also take part in simulated traffic stops, crime scene scenarios and evidence collection.

The 2012 national Click It or Ticket seat belt enforcement mobilization kicked off May 20 to help save lives by cracking down on those who don't buckle up.
Campbellsville Police Department is joining with other state and local law enforcement officers and highway safety advocates across the country to help save more lives by strongly enforcing seat belt laws around the clock.
