City's foresight for the future
Coming into office, I had no plans to create any new debt for the city.
Purchasing land for a new park was definitely not my intention. At first, I did not even want to discuss the issue. I simply did not feel the purchase would be a wise decision.
However, an opportunity arose that I felt could better our community for many years to come, and as new information emerged, my interest in the purchase grew.

We must keep growing and learning
While watching a graduation commencement, it occurred to me how similar graduation and retirement are. Most of the graduates were being asked what are you going to do after graduation. Quite often, acquaintances ask me what are you going to do after retirement? I usually respond by saying, “Retire from what? I’m doing what I like to do.”

School district focusing on community's health
The Campbellsville School District is working to make its students healthier, and now the entire community can get involved, too.
The District will host an Eagles on the Run 5K run/walk on Saturday, May 5. Events begin at Campbellsville Middle School at 8 a.m.
Pre-registration is $10 and can be completed online at www.cville.kyschools.us or by picking up a registration form at Campbellsville High School.

Remember King's message
You know what they say about those who forget their history, right? They’re doomed to repeat it.
At Saturday night’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. reception at the Imani Center, the message was clear. Have the youth forgotten about the struggles of King and about the Civil Rights movement?
As I scanned the crowd, which was much smaller than usual, I couldn’t help but notice that there were few children in attendance. The crowd wasn’t very diverse either.
