Travel on your own dime, governor
When you travel, you probably pay the bill yourself.
If you’re a sports fan, and you want to watch Kentucky, or whatever your favorite team might be, play in the SEC or NCAA tournaments, you probably buy your own airline ticket to get there.
If these statements apply to you, then you aren’t Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear, because the governor has made it all too clear that the rules don’t apply to him.

Taylor County School District has $14 million in bonding capacity
With no state funding, school building plans put on hold
Taylor County School District’s plans to build a new high school and a performance-based education campus are on hold.
Thanks to the state budget woes, there simply is no money to help fund the replacement of category five schools. Category five school buildings are those deemed by state inspectors to be in the worst state of repair and in need of replacement. Taylor County Elementary is classified as category five.

The Taylor County Detention Center isn’t financially supporting itself just yet, but according to the budget figures, it’s pretty close.
Members of Taylor County Fiscal Court’s Budgets, Audits and Personnel Committee met last Friday to discuss the detention center’s 2012-2013 budget, along with the status of the county’s 2011-2012 budget.
