Campbellsville High School’s Lady Eagles were only a few seconds away from a perfect weekend, but Buckhorn hit a late three-pointer to edge coach Cameron Jackson’s club 43-42 on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Eagles started their own All “A” Invitational with a 46-34 triumph over Whitefield Academy of Louisville on Friday night at Campbellsville Middle School.
Brittany Vaught and Tiffany slone scored 17 points apiece as CHS won the final three quarters 42-25.

Campbellsville High School’s Lady Eagles led at the first three quarter stops before falling 52-50 at Caverna on Tuesday night.
Coach Cameron Jackson’s team held 10-7, 24-15 and 33-32 advantages before being out-scored 20-17 in the final eight minutes in the season opener for CHS.
Caverna (2-0) crushed Fort Knox 68-25 a night earlier.
Senior Tiffany Slone led the Lady Eagles with 23 points while junior Brittany Vaught added 12.
Campbellsville plays at East Jessamine tonight and will visit Taylor County on Tuesday.

Campbellsville High School’s Lady Eagles were shut out twice, but still managed a 2-2 trip to the Florida Beach Bash last week.
The Lady Eagles (3-6) fell to ranked Glasgow 4-0 on April 3 with Tiffany Slone and Melanie Brockman having a single and walk each for CHS.
On April 4, Campbellsville hammered Fairdale 21-1 in three innings with Jessie Cash and Karissa Atkinson going 3-4. Brenna wethington had two hits and four RBI while Cash, Atkinson, Hannah Taylor and Amythyst McColley all had three-RBI games.

Campbellsville High School’s Lady Eagles picked up victory No. 1 on the softball diamond on Tuesday night with an 8-4 road win at Monroe County.
The Lady Eagles took a 1-0 lead in the first when Tiffany Slone walked, stole second base and came in on Jessie Cash’s double.
CHS went ahead 3-0 in the second when Melanie Brockman walked, Mary Brower singled and Brenna Wethington reached on an error before Destiny Wilson reached on a fielder’s choice and Slone and Hannah Taylor walked.

Campbellsville High School’s Lady Eagles dropped a 56-37 home game to Metcalfe County on Saturday and lost at Green County on Monday.
Brittany Vaughn had 13 points, Tiffany Slone 10 and Heather Watson nine vs. Metcalfe County as the Lady Eagles fell behind 23-5 at the first-quarter stop.
The third quarter was the huge bugaboo on Monday as Green County won that frame 31-9. Slone had 14 vs. the Lady Dragons.
The CHS girls’ squad (5-17) visits Bethlehem on Friday.

Green County’s Lady Dragons tallied 39 of the final 52 points to sprint past Campbellsville 69-43 in a Touchstone Energy Fifth Region All “A” Classic first-round game on Monday night in Greensburg.
The Lady Eagles used a 11-2 run of their own to tie the game at 17-17 early in the second quarter.
Cameron Jackson’s outfit took leads of 20-19 and 22-21 on a Tiffany Slone three-pointer, and two Slone free throws and also led at 25-23 on Heather Watson’s trey and 26-25 on Belene Garcia’s charity toss.

Campbellsville High School’s Lady Eagles posted their fourth victory of the season with a 37-16 Monday night home win over Portland Christian.
Coach Cameron Jackson’s club led 21-12 at the half and out-scored the visitors 16-4 in the second half.
Tiffany Slone led a balanced CHS attack with 13 points while Brittany Vaught added eight and Heather Watson and Masi Wilson six apiece.
Vaught also grabbed six rebounds and Slone had eight steals.
