The Lady Cardinals of Taylor County notched wins 14 and 15 around a district loss to Marion County.
The Lady Cardinals bested Boyle County 69-40 on the road Saturday as Mercedes Cox had 18 points and 16 rebounds and Rachel Riggs scored 12. Marsha Kessler totaled nine for TCHS and Elizabeth Thomas and Hope Wigginton eight apiece.
Taylor County could manage only five field goals, one n the first half, in a 71-33 Monday home loss to the Lady Knights.
Cox paced the Lady Cards with 12 while Wigginton added eight.

Mercedes Cox (18 points), Hope Wigginton (16) and Elizabeth Thomas (10) combined for 44 points as the Taylor County Lady Cardinals held off visiting Bardstown 57-49 on Friday night.
The Lady Cardinals (10-4) led by double digits at the half and still held an 11-point cushion (49-38) n the fourth quarter until a free throw and two Alyssa Thompson three-pointers made it 49-45 with 3:30 to play.
However, the Lady Cards nailed seven of 10 free throws down the stretch, six of eight by Cox, to post the victory.

Taylor County’s Lady Cardinals reeled off their fifth win in the first eight days of the high school hoop season by cruising past Campbellsville 73-24 on Tuesday night in Paul J. Coop Gymnasium.
The Lady Cardinals (5-0), who won three games in Brandenburg over the weekend, trailed only 2-0 on Brittany Vaught’s basket 15 seconds into the contest.
However, Hope Wigginton had nine of her game-high 21 points and Alanna Claywell connected on four of her 12 points off the bench and the rout was on.
