Taylor County’s Cards win close one, after two-point setback at North
Taylor County dropped a 58-56 decision at North Hardin on Saturday before conquering Nelson County 62-59 on the road Tuesday night.
Caleb Wigginton had 23 points at North Hardin with Trae Wells putting up 18 points and dishing out five assists and Lucas Bradshaw grabbing nine rebounds with his 13-point game.
The Cardinals had four in double digits at Nelson County with Wigginton scoring 19, Quentin Goodin 14, Bradshaw 13 and Wells 10.

LaRue shoots ‘lights out’ in third, posts 67-48 win over Taylor
LaRue County hit eight third-quarter three-pointers and downed the visiting Taylor County High School boys’ team 67-48 on Friday night in Hodgenville.
The Hawks (18-7) had used a 20-12 second quarter to build a 31-24 half-time cushion before junior Kelton Ford hit four treys and senior Kyle Sheeran three bombs for a 30-point, third-period frame. LaRue County had hit five threes in the first half.

Russell County comes back in second half
to down Taylor County High’s Cardinals 70-55
Taylor County led Russell County by three at the half, but were out-scored by 10 in the third quarter and eight in the fourth frame and fell at home 70-55 at home on Tuesday night.
Trae Wells led the Cardinals with 17 points while Quentin Goodin totaled 14 and Caleb Wigginton 11.
Taylor County did best Barren County 57-55 on the road Saturday.

Taylor County used a 19-0 run to pull away from Campbellsville in the first half en route to a 64-34 boys’ triumph in high school hoops on Friday night.
The Eagles (0-14) led 4-2 on baskets by post players Donnell Smith and Trey Henry, only to see the visitors score the next 19 points in a seven-minute stretch.
Taylor County (9-5) hit six of its seven three-point baskets to lead 40-14 at the intermission.
Caleb Wigginton (22), Trae Wells (16) and Quentin Goodin (11) reached double digits for TCHS while Mason Wethington had 11 for CHS.
