Police have a message for residents this holiday season: Don't make life easy for criminals.
For every sale going on, there are also would-be criminals ready to swipe goods from unlocked cars or unattended shopping carts, local police officials say.
"Some people like to get their presents for free," Taylor County Sheriff John Shipp said.
It's a time of year when people tend to carry extra cash, Campbellsville Police Chief Dennis Benningfield said, which means they need to be extra cautious when shopping.
