The county is searching for an employee to oversee its recycling center.
County officials officially take over operation of the city’s recycling center today, but they have yet to hire an employee to oversee its operation.
At a special meeting last Wednesday, magistrates agreed to ask the city to allow an employee who was overseeing the center to stay there for up to a month to help train a county employee to do the job.

I just read the article about the city approving a policy limiting employee social media use. I found many components of the “policy” interesting.
For instance, a city employee posting a complaint about someone (i.e. a supervisor) or an issue within the city could result in disciplinary action. City Attorney John Miller said he believes the policy states that, “posting that information would be inappropriate.”

Coming into office, I had no plans to create any new debt for the city.
Purchasing land for a new park was definitely not my intention. At first, I did not even want to discuss the issue. I simply did not feel the purchase would be a wise decision.
However, an opportunity arose that I felt could better our community for many years to come, and as new information emerged, my interest in the purchase grew.

The final figures are in and the city of Campbellsville is expected to operate with nearly $16 million next fiscal year.
The Campbellsville City Council had final reading of the 2012-2013 budget during a five-minute special meeting Monday. The vote was unanimous and there was no discussion. Council members Patti Phillips, Vangie Ford and Terry Keltner did not attend the meeting.
The budget - which is about $1 million more than the budget for the current fiscal year - includes a 1-percent raise for City employees, which costs about $45,000.

Though it wasn’t included last month, city employees are now slated to receive a raise in July.
After requests to include at least a 1-percent salary increase, Campbellsville Mayor Tony Young and City Clerk Cary Noe went back to the drawing board.
At Monday’s regular meeting, Council members were presented with a budget that includes the requested 1-percent salary increase for full-time employees.
Campbellsville City Council members had first reading of the city’s 2012-2013 budget during their regular meeting last month.
