I wonder if anyone has ever thought of privatizing Miller Park. I say this from strictly an economic angle.
The park costs the city money, about $250,000 per year, unless the budget is amended to cover said costs. By cutting the budget by $250,000, economic stimulus would soon follow.

The county will once again contribute $10,000 to renaissance efforts in the community for next fiscal year. That contribution, however, isn’t finalized until magistrates give final approval to the county’s 2013-2014 budget.
Downtown business owners came to Tuesday’s regular meeting of the Taylor County Fiscal Court to ask that magistrates continue supporting them. This year’s contribution to renaissance, which is also $10,000, was discussed at a meeting of the county’s Budgets, Audits and Personnel Committee last month.

It has often been said, “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure.” Now that spring has arrived, the presence of yard and garage sales abound. Every day, faithful shoppers and bargain hunters scour the highways and byways searching for “deals.”
During the past 10 months, the Campbellsville Police have engaged in their own bargain hunting.

We, as a Sunday school class at Green River Memorial Baptist Church, would like to commend councilman Stan McKinney for taking a stand against the sale of alcohol on Sundays or anything that promotes or encourages the use of alcohol.
We hope our other county and city leaders will follow his choice.
Thank you, Stan McKinney! We need more Christian leaders like you.

Plans are in the works to begin selling alcohol at Campbellsville Country Club.
And Campbellsville City Council members are expected to take the first step to making that a reality tonight.
In January, voters in the New North precinct were asked to vote “Yes” or “No” to the question, “Are you in favor of the sale of alcoholic beverages by the drink at Campbellsville Country Club in the New North precinct of Taylor County, Ky.?”
Voters approved the measure by a 60 to 40 percent margin.

Efforts to get the Trail Town Development Project rolling are progressing quickly, according to Greg Tungate, who updated the Campbellsville City Council on the project at its regular meeting on Monday.
“We have work to do and I tell you what, we have a lot of good, excited people on board that are willing to put their boots on,” Tungate said. “This is where we want to get to is a bike-friendly community.”
