Wigginton's 35 points propel TC past Washington
Sophomore Caleb Wigginton scored only five points in the first quarter but followed it up with a 12-point second frame and a 10-point third period en route to a 35-point night in Taylor County’s 72-54 road triumph at Washington County on Tuesday.
The Cardinals fought back several times to maintain their double-digit advantage, sparked by Commander junior Alex Marshall’s 21-point showing.

to down Taylor County High’s Cardinals 70-55
Taylor County led Russell County by three at the half, but were out-scored by 10 in the third quarter and eight in the fourth frame and fell at home 70-55 at home on Tuesday night.
Trae Wells led the Cardinals with 17 points while Quentin Goodin totaled 14 and Caleb Wigginton 11.
Taylor County did best Barren County 57-55 on the road Saturday.

Lady Eagles reach All 'A' semis
Campbellsville’s Lady Eagles downed Fort Knox 47-34 at home on Monday before falling at Green County 76-42 in the semi-finals of the Touchstone Energy Fifth Region All “A” Classic.
Brittany Vaught hit 10 baskets, one a three-pointer, to lead CHS with 21 points and past Fort Knox.
Vaught (14) and Tiffany Slone (12) reached double figures vs. the Lady Dragons, but could not overcome the double-digit scoring of Rachel Marr (19), Micah Jones (13), Kayla Bale (12) and Kali Hedgespeth (10).

CHS falls to Fort Knox in All "A" first round.
Not enough comeback for Eagles
Campbellsville High’s Eagles had a late rally, but could not fight back from a double-digit deficit and fell to Fort Knox at home in the first round of the Touchstone Energy Fifth Region All “A” Classic on Monday.
The Eagles (1-17) trailed by 15 (49-34) before a Mason Wethington three-pointer and two lay-ups by Damontez Smith around a Trey Henry basket made it 49-43 with 2:17 left.
However, the Eagles could get not closer than six and missed four of their final five free throws to thwart their come-back efforts.

Hart County sprinted out to a 20-7 first-quarter lead and had little trouble in downing the visiting Taylor County Lady Cardinals 64-29 on Tuesday night.
Haley Wright had eight points for TCHS while Hannah Howard added seven and Becca Orberson six.
Lexi Wilson and Campbellsville University signee led Hart County (11-8) with 18 and 15 points, respectively.

Taylor County increased a 10-point, half-time lead to a 25-point cushion on Tuesday night en route to a 79-43 road win at Hart County.
Caleb Wigginton’s 23-point, 12-rebound effort paced the Cardinals to their 11th win in 17 outings while Quentin Goodin and Lucas Bradshaw reached double figures with 16 and 12 points, respectively.
Trae Wells, despite foul trouble, had seven points, seven rebounds and five assists while Goodin and Spirit Smith had four assists apiece.

Lady Cards get off to slow start, lose at Bardstown
Taylor County’s Lady Cardinals never fully overcame a 15-4 deficit and lost a 49-44 road tilt to Bardstown on Friday night.
The Lady Cardinals (5-8) did creep within 34-33 going to the final quarter and tied the game with seven minutes left, only to be out-scored by five down the stretch.
Haley Wright led Taylor County with 12 points while Hannah Howard added 10 and Rachel Riggs nine. The Lady Cardinals played without starting front-court player Shelby Carney, who injured an ankle in the early going at Green County on Tuesday.

Eagles hammered by Knights
Marion County used a 20-5 first quarter and a 14-6 third frame to clobber the visiting Campbellsville High School Eagles 67-34 on Friday night.
Thirteen of 15 players used by the Knights scored with only reserve Clay Lanham reaching double figures with 10.
Blake Richerson led all scorers with 12 points for Campbellsville.
