After beating No.3-ranked Azusa the night before, Campbellsville University’s Lady Tigers had validation on its mind on Dec. 10 when it took on 12th-ranked Bethel in its second game of the Citizens Bank Holiday Hoops Classic.
And validation it got as the Lady Tigers pulled away in the second half for a 76-57 win, the second in a row over a top-20 team.
“We didn’t play with a ton of energy in the first half,” head coach Ginger Colvin said, “but I thought we came out and did in the second half.”

Campbellsville used a three-point play by Chelsea Craig with about two minutes to go that gave the Lady Tigers a 67-64 lead that was never relinquished as CU defeated No. 18 Columbia College Saturday night, 75-70.
“That was huge,” said head coach Ginger Colvin. “We’re pleased to death with the way Chelsea is playing right now. She’s a battler.”

Players did not want to leave the HIG Field Saturday afternoon as the 2011 football season came to a close. They wanted the celebration to play on, and on, as Campbellsville University defeated Greenville College 21-7 to claim its first National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Victory Bowl championship.
It’s the first football championship of any kind for the Fighting Tigers since CU claimed a Mid-South Conference title in 1997.

Campbellsville went on a three-minute drought to start the second half and never fully recovered in dropping a 69-56 decision Monday night to No.-2 ranked Union University.
“I’m disappointed,” coach Ginger Colvin said. “They have a really nice team. We played super the first half and in the second half we got away from it.”
The Lady Tigers committed 22 turnovers and could manage but 22 points after intermission. Twice during the second half, CU committed three consecutive turnovers allowing Union to construct a 62-52 lead.
