Please help Mannsville save its post office. Anyone can sign the petition at Mannsville Sash & Door, or Penn’s Store or write to the post office. Mannsville is on the list to lose its post office, and there is special need there.
The many Amish living there still use horse and buggy and do not have electricity due to their religious beliefs.
Therefore, they do not have Internet access, nor do they own automobiles to travel over 25 miles round trip to Campbellsville, which is the nearest post office.

On Wednesday, Oct. 5, my 24-year-old niece went to the Kroger pharmacy in the Green River Plaza with her grandmother to get their annual flu shot.
After receiving the shot, my niece shopped for a few minutes and then suddenly became ill. She almost passed out as her sugar level dropped dangerously low.

Each year in the United States, more than 71,000 children age 18 and younger are seen in emergency rooms for unintentional overdoses of prescription and over-the-counter drugs.
Teens are abusing prescription drugs because they believe the myth that these drugs provide a medically safe high. More than three in five teens say prescription pain relievers are easy to get from parents’ medicine cabinets.

As governor, I am amazed time and again at the fortitude, work ethic and professionalism our state employees exhibit. Through budget cuts and the demand to do more with less, they continue to rise to the top and work to serve others.
Every state employee should be proud of the role they play in meeting the needs of so many Kentuckians across the Commonwealth with professionalism, consistency and pride. I could not run state government without them. I am constantly reminded of the great job they do as Jane and I travel the state.

On behalf of the students and staff of Taylor County Elementary School, I would like to publicly thank Magistrate Ed Gorin.
Gorin helped provide TCES with our very own recycling trailer. This recycling trailer will allow our school to forge ahead in recycling and promoting environmental awareness among our students.
Being such a large school, we will provide a positive when thinking of the amount of recyclable material we can collect.
We urge anyone interested to come by the school to see our new trailer located behind the cafeteria.

My name is Wanda Cash Perkins and I wanted to express my sincere appreciation to a total stranger. I sure hope he reads the CKNJ.
My aunt, Maxine Phillips, passed away a few weeks ago and we were on our way to the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Campbellsville.
As we were crossing the intersection at Broadway and Columbia Road, we noticed several people were driving slower and some had pulled to the side of the road to show their respect. Although it is not a law that this be done, there are still a lot of people that do it.

Clark, Magnolia Alley, Team Taylor County, Lee's Famous Recipe, Q-104, Smith-Altman Ins. H & W Sport Shop, Creek Side Restaurant,

Sept. 7, I mailed a $62 check to our local post office, with a pretty Forever stamp on the envelope, for the renewal of my P.O. Box I've had for some 30 years.
No matter if they cut Saturday delivery, my P.O. Box will have my mail.
I'm sticking with a business I learned to depend upon 70 years ago, USPS!
