Students receive awards at state history convention
Members of the Tebbs Bend Historians were honored at the 2008 Kentucky Junior Historical Society Convention.
The 46th annual Kentucky Junior Historical Society convention, held March 27-29 in Frankfort, gathers student historians from every corner of the commonwealth in grades K-12. These students submit prepared projects in various categories, including historical exhibit, genealogical research, photography, performance and art.

Campbellsville Schools name academic achievers for March
Campbellsville Independent Schools' Academic Achievers for the month of March were recently named.
Campbellsville Elementary
Chanson Atkinson is a second grade student at CES. He is the son of Rochelle and James Atkinson. He enjoys playing football and basketball. His favorite teacher is Joyce Dunlap, and math is his favorite subject. His future plans are to play basketball for Louisville as a point guard.

TCHS Choir alumni present concert
Taylor County High School Choir alumni returned on March 15 to perform in the Saturday Night Concert Series. Back: Kent Scifres, Erika Graham Gaines, William Brockman and Amory Cox. Sponsored by the TCHS Show Choir, the goal of the series is to raise funds for the choir's spring revue, "Pop Rocks," which will be presented May 8-10.

TCES honored as finalist in inaugural grant program
Taylor County Elementary School has been recognized as a finalist in the inaugural Good Deeds for Schools grant program, sponsored by Goody's Family Clothing.
The newly created program is designed to help local schools pay for the materials they really need but cannot afford through regular education funding.

TCHS students participate in All-District Band
On Jan. 26, 14 members of the Taylor County High School Band participated in the Fourth District Band Directors Association's All District Symphonic and Concert Bands.
The students who participated in this event must have first completed an audition process competing against other students in their district.
