Tucker wins Community Trust contest
Bradley Tucker, left, is the winner of last week’s Community Trust Bank Guess the Weight contest. Tucker correctly guessed the weight of a watermelon at the bank’s Broadway office. Barry Pennington, Community Trust Bank senior loan officer, presented Tucker with a watermelon.

Yamato Steak House of Japan opens
Yamato Steak House of Japan’s Campbellsville restaurant is now open.
Managed by Tom Dong, Yamato’s also has locations in Somerset and Corbin. A new location is also on its way to Shelbyville.
Yamato’s offers a variety of fresh sushi, including vegetarian rolls, cooked rolls and uncooked rolls. It has a sushi bar where diners can sit and watch the chef create a special roll.

Taylor’s Auto Repair now open
Chris Taylor is the owner of Taylor’s Auto Repair, located at 1466 S. Columbia Ave.
Taylor has been a mechanic for 20 years and is experienced in auto, bike and boat repair.
He specializes in auto body and mechanic services.
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Benningfield wins Community Trust Bank contest

Rustic Room opens on Elkhorn Road
Nichole and Eric McDuffie have opened The Rustic Room, located at 3501 Elkhorn Road in the old Minor’s Jeans building. They have a variety of horse tack, grooming supplies, western decor, Montana West purses, hats, farrier tools, saddles, saddle pads, halters and more.

Taylor County resident, Tiffany Shaw, RN, was one of 31 Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital nurses who recently participated in an intensive two-day Critical Care Registered Nurse/Progressive Care Certified Nurse review class.

TRH names summer ambassador
Diane Wright has been named the Taylor Regional Hospital Ambassador for summer 2011.
Other nominees for the honor were Phyllis Henderson and Harrison Whitlock.
Wright was nominated by a team member, who wrote:
“Diane is a patient advocate in all she does, always putting their needs and concerns first. Since the weather adversely affects our pulmonary patients, she monitors the weather and coordinates transportation for them.

USDA producer loans available
Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced recently that a high demand for guaranteed farm ownership and direct farm operating funds has prompted USDA to transfer appropriated funds between programs as authorized by law, to meet the urgent credit needs of producers, including beginning and minority farmers and ranchers.
