Chick-fil-A Express opens
Chick-fil-A Express opened Wednesday at Campbellsville University’s Davenport Student Commons building. Above, the Chick-fil-A cow encourages lunchtime drivers to “Eat Mor Chikin.” Chick-fil-A Express is open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Saturday. At left, two Chick-fil-A cows helped kick off the opening of the Chick-fil-A Express restaurant on Aug. 24.

Sallee’s Family Taekwondo moves to Main Street
Sallee’s Family Taekwondo has recently moved locations to 219 E. Main St. in downtown Campbellsville, across from Chandler’s Office Supply and Twisted Stem. The business is an ATA certified school, having served the community for more than 10 years. Classes are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. for children and 7 to 8 p.m. for adults, and Saturday from 11 a.m. until noon for all belts. Anyone interested in joining receives three free classes. Owner/Head Instructor Randall Sallee Jr. is a fourth-degree black belt. For more information, call (270) 735-7770.

Dollar General Literacy Foundation awards grants to local schools
The Dollar General Literacy Foundation has presented Taylor County and Campbellsville elementary schools with back to school grants. The back to school grant will fund programs, equipment, materials or software for the schools’ library or literacy programs.
TCES received $2,000. CES received $1,599.

Study finds adult day care services reduce stress of family caregivers
In the first known study to clearly demonstrate that adult day services is effective in helping reduce stress on family caregivers, Penn State researchers have determined stress is reduced by an average of 66 percent in caregivers who use adult day care services.

Tucker wins Community Trust contest
Bradley Tucker, left, is the winner of last week’s Community Trust Bank Guess the Weight contest. Tucker correctly guessed the weight of a watermelon at the bank’s Broadway office. Barry Pennington, Community Trust Bank senior loan officer, presented Tucker with a watermelon.

Yamato Steak House of Japan opens
Yamato Steak House of Japan’s Campbellsville restaurant is now open.
Managed by Tom Dong, Yamato’s also has locations in Somerset and Corbin. A new location is also on its way to Shelbyville.
Yamato’s offers a variety of fresh sushi, including vegetarian rolls, cooked rolls and uncooked rolls. It has a sushi bar where diners can sit and watch the chef create a special roll.
