Golf scramble donations
Taylor Regional Hospital Charity Golf Scramble received a big boost from two local banks. Citizens Bank & Trust Co. and Taylor County Bank were major sponsors of the third annual event. Each bank donated $5,000 toward the purchase of a second van, which will be used to expand the existing free van service offered to TRH patients.

Coldwell Banker Co. National Award winner has Campbellsville ties
Coldwell Banker Co. and Managing Broker Kevin Farris recently announced that Lisa Ford Hornback was named the 2010 National Award winner.
Hornback, the daughter of Donald and Juanita Ford of Campbellsville, closed 59 units receiving the distinguish International President’s Elite Award. She is in the top 1 percent of all Coldwell Banker agents in the nation.
Hornback also received the Most Closed Units, Most Listings Taken, Highest Closed Volume, Most Listings Sold, Most Buyer Controlled Sales, Gold Plus Award and Most GCI Closed awards.

Kessler receives real estate license
Marsha Kessler has passed the Kentucky Real Estate License exam and received her sales associate license.
Kessler will join her father, John Kessler, at Kessler Auction & Realty Co. in Campbellsville.
Kessler, 18, is the daughter of John and Julie Kessler of Campbellsville and a 2011 graduate of Taylor County High School. She attends Campbellsville University, where she is majoring in secondary education with an emphasis in math.

The week is designed to raise awareness of availability and accessibility of adult day programs nationwide. This year’s theme is “Adult Day Services ... Building and Supporting Communities.”
Adult day services are designed to meet the needs of adults with functional or cognitive impairments through an individual plan of care. Active Day of Campbellsville provides health services, meals, transportation and therapeutic activities in a safe and structured environment.

McDonald’s introduces healthier Happy Meal
McDonald’s in Campbellsville has launched a new Happy Meal in support of the company’s recently announced “Commitments to Offer Improved Nutrition Choice,” which strive to help customers — especially children and families — make nutrition-minded choices, whether visiting McDonald’s or elsewhere.
Taylor County is among the first markets to receive the redesigned Happy Meal after local stores participated as a test-market for the nation-wide launch. McDonald’s Restaurants in the area began testing the new Happy Meal last year.

Local schools participate in award-winning energy education program
Kentucky was recently recognized as the distinguished 2011 “state of the year” by the National Energy Education Development Project for its state energy education program.
The state’s program is partnered with the Louisville Gas and Electric Co. and Kentucky Utilities Co. Children’s Energy Education Program to help incorporate energy education into local schools.
