County Agricultural Investment Program approved for Taylor County
The Kentucky Agricultural Development Board, chaired by Gov. Steve Beshear, recently approved $173,000 in Taylor County Agricultural Development Funds for a County Agricultural Investment Program. The Taylor County Cattlemen’s Association Inc. submitted a proposal to the Taylor County Agricultural Development Council and the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board to provide cost-share incentives to area farmers.

Thompson to compete in NAILE
Isaac Thompson of Campbellsville has entered a Hereford in the beef division of the 38th annual North American International Livestock Exposition. The world’s largest purebred livestock show, the event takes place at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville on Nov. 5-18.

AT&T boosts mobile broadband network in Taylor County
AT&T customers in Kentucky are expected to experience improved mobile broadband coverage and voice performance as a result of continued investment by AT&T. The company announced recently network improvements made in the first half of 2011 to enhance the wireless capacity and performance of its mobile broadband network throughout the Bluegrass State.
AT&T has upgraded over 120 new cell sites for mobile broadband, including sites in Taylor County.

Amedisys offering personal emergency response systems for its home care patients
Amedisys Home Health Care of Campbellsville, a part of Amedisys Inc., a leading home health care and hospice services company, has announced that it is providing personal emergency response systems for its home care patients.
The PERS devices will be provided free while the patient is under Amedisys care. Upon discharge from the Amedisys home care services, the patient will have the opportunity to continue the service by paying a market-rate fee directly to the service provider.

Golf scramble donations
Taylor Regional Hospital Charity Golf Scramble received a big boost from two local banks. Citizens Bank & Trust Co. and Taylor County Bank were major sponsors of the third annual event. Each bank donated $5,000 toward the purchase of a second van, which will be used to expand the existing free van service offered to TRH patients.
