First United Methodist to offer 'The Grand Sweep'
First United Methodist Church will offer "The Grand Sweep," a program that reads through the entire Bible in a year.
Participants' understanding of the Bible will increase and their faith will grow stronger.
One-hour classes will meet at 6:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Wednesdays. The cost is $12 for the companion book, "The Grand Sweep."
Reading will begin on Jan. 1. Stop by the church office for the reading schedule. This opportunity is open to people of all faiths.

CU theology students inducted into Theta Alpha Kappa
Campbellsville University recently added a chapter of Theta Alpha Kappa, a national honor society for students in religious studies and theology programs, and inducted 12 students and three faculty moderators.

Campbellsville Christian to host Festival of Christmas
Campbellsville Christian Church will host the Festival of Christmas on Dec. 12-13.
"The Spirit of Christmas Past" will be presented by the SonLight Kids at 6 p.m. followed by "A Baby Changes Everything," presented by the adult choir at 7:30 p.m.
Both programs will be in the church sanctuary. There will be an intermission with refreshments provided in the Family Life Center.
A traditional Christmas Eve service will be at 11 p.m. in the church sanctuary. A celebration of Christ will be offered through carols, communion and candles.

Merciful God,
Every year at this time as I start to pen a psalm of Thanksgiving, I'm never quite sure where to begin or even how to approach you.
I have so little to lay at your feet. No grand deeds, no souls saved because of something I've said or done. Truth is, I'm feeling empty-handed and ashamed, aware of my unworthiness, yet confident of your great mercy.
O, how I cherish your mercy!
