From a magician to exotic animals to snow cones, this year's summer reading program offers a variety of events for children, teens and adults.
The library's "Dream Big ... READ!" summer reading program kicked off Monday, June 4, with registration and ends with a blowout event on July 10.

International Gospel Lighthouse Church in Acton will host its ninth annual camp meetings beginning June 1. The theme is "What are you made of?"

The Taylor County Fair will offer a variety of entertainment for the entire family this year, from singing competitions and a demolition derby to a petting zoo and a dog show.
The midway will open at 6 p.m. on June 4-9. Gates will open at 5.
Fair admission is $10 and everyone will pay the fee, including contestants.

This year's Taylor County Fair is offering pageants for those of all ages beginning Monday, June 4.
All pageant contestants must pay $10 gate admission. Pre-registration will be accepted with a $30 entry fee by Thursday, May 31. However, registration will be available the day of the pageants for a $40 cash only entry fee.
Pageants are open to any Kentucky resident.

The Taylor County Fair offers rides, competitions, food, fellowship and much more. But for those looking to strut their horses, this year's annual horse competitions will be Saturday, June 2.

Though the rides won't begin until two days later, the Taylor County Fair opens on Saturday, June 2, with the annual beef, dairy and youth shows.
The Taylor County Fair Open Dairy Show and Open Youth Show will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, at the Taylor County Fairgrounds.
Supreme senior champion will receive $300. Supreme junior champion will receive $200.
Breeds competing will be Ayrshire, Brown Swiss, Guernsey, Holstein and Jersey, red and white.
