Ludora Feese Perkins had no idea what the contraption was. Her daughters had given her the device, about the width of a paperback novel and as thick as a notepad, as a birthday gift last fall. Today, Perkins can’t live without her Kindle.
A lifelong reader who used to read under the covers by flashlight as a child, Perkins has brought her love of the written word into the modern world.
“I love my Kindle,” she said. “I find that I read a lot more. Before I got it, I’d never heard of one.”
